Strategic plan 2009-2012

In order to achieve the objectives of the National Spatial Affairs Policy, a set of strategies is contemplated, which can be summarized in the following categories:

1. Formulation of policies and planning. includes activities such as diagnoses, studies, plans, legislation and standardization.

2. Use and application of sciences and spatial technologies. Contemplates activities of technology transfer, adoption of spatial applications and services, development and use of satellites and spatial data infrastructure  - ICDE.

3. Promotion and fortification of the generation of knowledge and capacities in science and technology.  Contemplates activities related to the formation of human talent, education, training, divulgation of information and knowledge, improvement of technological and research infrastructure and experimentation for the solution of national problems.

4. International cooperation and relations. Contemples activities related to negotiation and writing of conventions, agreements and international agreements, defense of Colombian interests at an international level and formulation, negotiation and undertaking of programs and projects of cooperation.
