Coordinator of the Group: Agustin Codazzi Geographic Institute (IGAC)

Objective of the Group

Unite institutional efforts around the organization and supply of products and services derived from space technologies to the consolidation, production of and massive use of fundamental geographical information for the development of the country.

Specific Objectives

 - Assure the availability, access and use of geospatial data at a local, regional and national level as a support to the development of the country.

- Develop common solutions for the discovery, access and geographic use of the data, products and services, especially related to spatial technologies and resources, in response to the needs of the Colombian society.

- Fortify the national capacities in the areas of the ICDE as a support to the continuous development of the Colombian Space Commission and Space Conference of the Americas.

- Develop and maintain strategies for the production and update of fundamental geographic data sets, as support to the decision making, development, application and use of spatial technologies and resources.

- Increase the knowledge and understanding of the vision, concepts and benefits of the ICDE and establish actions of inter-institutional coordination to harmonize the strategies of the CCE.
